(HealthDay News) -- Among women who have given birth via
Caesarean section, each will recover a bit differently from this
major surgical procedure.
But there are common aftereffects of a C-section. Here's a list,
including suggestions to help you recover, courtesy of
childbirth.org:
- Pain at the incision site.
- Uncomfortable gas.
- Contractions of the uterus.
- Significant fatigue.
- Any staples or stitches that need to be removed are usually
taken out after about four to seven days.
- Try to do as little as possible, although taking a few steps
beginning right after surgery is encouraged.
- Avoid lifting anything that weighs more than your baby.
